1. Who we are
SUPERLATIVE SOLUTIONS (PTY) LTD, trading as Superlative Hosting, is the responsible party for the personal information described here, under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). You can contact us about privacy at support@superlativehosting.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, company, address and VAT number if you give it.
- Billing records: invoices, payment references, and proofs of payment you upload.
- Support records: tickets and messages you send us.
- Security records: sign-in times, IP addresses and device descriptions, so we can protect your account and show you where you are signed in.
- Website checks: the results of the Superlative Score checks we run against your website's public address.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to create and manage your account, provide and bill our services, register domains, answer support requests, keep your account secure, and meet our legal and tax obligations. We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only where needed to provide our services, for example with domain registries and registrars when registering a domain in your name, and with the providers that host our systems and send our emails. We require them to protect your information. We do not sell your personal information.
5. How long we keep it
We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is open and afterwards for as long as the law requires, usually five years for financial records. Security and rate-limit records are kept for a short time and then deleted.
6. Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. Two-factor keys are encrypted. Proofs of payment can only be opened by you and our staff. Access to the admin system is limited to our staff.
7. Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email support@superlativehosting.co.za. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
8. Cookies
We use a cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your light or dark theme choice. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
9. Changes
We may update this policy and will show the date it was last updated at the top of this page.
